The ombudsperson is an independent entity that can be contacted to impartially resolve disputes or disagreements within the scope of the GAIR involving members of the GAIR, the board, or the board of trustees, in accordance with the objectives of the GAIR. She serves as an internal mechanism to mediate between the parties involved and offer a satisfactory resolution.

The ombudsperson can be invoked by one or more members. She pledges to handle the matter discreetly and impartially. The ombudsperson’s role is informal and conciliatory, aiming to clarify misunderstandings and restore harmony so that GAIR members can consolidate their efforts to achieve common goals.
