On 16 October 2026 at 6 pm, the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin (Berlin State Library) and GAIR will jointly host an academic ceremony in honour of Prof. em. Dr. Omaia Elwan. The ceremony marks two occasions: his specialist law library of some 11,000 volumes is passing to the Staatsbibliothek, and he will be presented with the Festschrift for his 90th birthday. Dr. Dirk Otto, LL.M., will deliver the laudation.
